About Me
A PhD candidate at Clarkson University studying mathematics with a focus on bioinformatics and machine learning. My research so far has been on DNA sequencing and utilizing machine learning to predict antimicrobial resistance from genomic data. I have experience working with both Illumina and Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) sequencing data and have extensively used numerous bioinformatics software including, but not limited to, SPAdes Genome Assembler, ONT's Guppy and Bonito Basecallers, the NCBI BLAST database, Integrative Genomics Viewer (IGV), SAMtools, and Kover. I have experience coding in Python, R, MATLAB, batch, and bash and am comfortable using HPC servers, the command line, WSL, Docker, and Git/Github.
I thoroughly enjoy spending free time solving math problems, completing puzzles, repairing electronics, and playing/listening to/composing music. With an array of experiences, I carry strengths of effective coordinating, collaboration, and the capability of focusing on a single problem for extended periods of time. As a musician, I have a sense of creativity that gives me a unique perspective when it comes to problem solving.
